You can use 35 or 45 lbs plates but,it is uncomfortable because the chain is to shor and while you are dipping it is rolling around in the croutch area.

This is a great dip belt for the price. It’s a no frills down to business belt. I use it for pull ups and dips with out a problem. My only complaint is the length of the chain is a little short for me. So far I’ve put about 90lbs on it and it’s held up.
